A First Look at the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid
A new kind of SUV is about to reshape how drivers in the Chicago suburbs commute, travel, and handle everyday life. The 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) is Nissan’s first U.S. plug-in hybrid model, bringing meaningful electric capability, three-row flexibility, and year-round confidence to one of Nissan’s most popular vehicles. Expected to arrive in early 2026, this upcoming Rogue PHEV is built for Countryside-area drivers who want to reduce fuel use and enjoy smooth electric driving.

Electric When You Want It, Gasoline When You Need It
The new Rogue PHEV introduces a driving experience that adapts to your routine instead of the other way around. Its EPA-estimated 38-mile all-electric range is perfect for local errands, school runs, and shorter commutes across the western suburbs—often without using gasoline at all.
When you’re headed downtown, on a weekend road trip, or out of state, the hybrid system extends total driving range to up to 420 miles, offering the freedom of long-distance travel with far fewer fuel stops.
The powertrain pairs a 20-kWh battery, two electric motors, and a 2.4-liter gas engine to produce 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque—giving the Rogue PHEV noticeably quicker response than the traditional Rogue.
Drivers can also choose EV, Save, or Charge modes and select between two regenerative braking levels, including the e-Step one-pedal system for smoother driving in stop-and-go traffic.
At home, a Level 2 charger can fully replenish the battery in around 7.5 hours, making overnight charging simple and predictable.
Built for Midwest Seasons with Standard AWD
With Chicago winters and unpredictable Midwest weather, the Rogue PHEV’s standard Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is a welcome feature.
Drivers can also tailor the vehicle to the road using seven drive modes, including Snow, Mud, Gravel, Power, Eco, and more – giving added control whether you’re navigating slush, rain, or rougher surfaces.
Three Rows, Flexible Space, and Thoughtful Comfort
Unlike most compact SUVs, the 2026 Rogue Plug-In Hybrid features seven-passenger seating, making it a standout for growing families or anyone who needs occasional extra room. The second row slides, reclines, and folds quickly for easy access to the third row or more space for cargo.
The interior emphasizes comfort and refinement, offering soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, acoustically laminated glass for a quieter ride, and available leather-appointed seating and rear sunshades on higher trims.
Cargo space is abundant: up to 64.7 cubic feet of maximum storage and the ability to load items up to 80 inches long make the Rogue PHEV surprisingly capable for road trips, sports gear, and weekend projects.
A motion-activated liftgate adds everyday convenience, especially when your hands are full.
Technology Designed Around the Driver
The Rogue PHEV brings an impressive set of digital features, with a focus on ease of use and connectivity. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay®, wired Android Auto™, and a wireless charging pad.
The available Platinum trim enhances the experience with:

-
Bose® nine-speaker premium audio for richer sound
-
Dual 120-volt, 1,500-watt power outlets ideal for powering accessories during tailgates, events, or camping
